This album is already familiar for our visitors due to the release "Marenych Trio. Vol.1" – but we are running short of old copies, and now we offer it in a new design."Three Poplars" is the first CD by Marenych Trio. I believe one can hardly find in Ukraine a person who would not know songs by the famous trio or have not heard about their work. And this is natural – in 1998, the group celebrated its anniversary, 25 years of their creative activity. Surprisingly, discography by the trio is quite modest. In 1979, the first record by "Marenych Trio" was released (incidentally, it was sold out with an unprecedented success), and in 1990 the band recorded two magnetoalbums in Canada. Unfortunately, they never reached the Ukrainian audience. Trying to fill in this gap, the "Oberih XXI" publishing house in 1998 prepared for releasing two albums by the legendary Marenych Trio – "Spring" and "Three Poplars". The greatest treasure of Ukrainians are songs, they reflect the soul of the nation. And the Marenych family, as no one else, have managed to successfully interpret the finest examples of folk and author songs – and to retain at that the pristine beauty of the melodies..." This album is a response to expectations of everyone who realized that Tina Karol was capable of much more than what she had so far demonstrated. Stuff of that kind was something that not only Tina, but the entire Ukrainian "first echelon pop scene" missed. A test (for herself and her habitual audience), a pilot..

Recording of the debut album was supported, among others, by Olexiy Morozov, Denys Dudko, Alik Fantaev, Milos Jelic... In short, it has happily happened. It sounds interesting – and it is not only due to the relaxed, delicious arrangement clarity or the sincerity of intonations. There is also a sort of a special tint in the timbre..

Given the rapid development of Tonya's music career lately – it is even surprising that the album has been released only now. On the other hand, it could mean that she did not disregard the possibility of more thorough handling of the material. And the result deserves attention due to its..

Anyway, the album turns out really atmospheric – it seems to invite to recall the past, but at the same time goes slightly beyond time limits. Because Lucyna's songs are about stories that occur at all times – where there are two people and something between them..

These songs are already more than twenty years old, but they are still loved. After all, who does not know Marenychy Trio? Maybe, someone who has not listened to Ukrainian music at all. This ensemble, which is actually a duet, performs the most popular Ukrainian folk songs. But – pay attention – an academic vocal performance sounds here. As for the musical accompaniment, it is not academic at all. That’s why this disc is meant for those listeners who do not like opera so much, but listen to a beautiful and skilful singing with great pleasure.

Rushnychok ensemble consists of only two people – but when listening to the disc you would never say that. However, another thing is the main specificity of the ensemble. Namely – the voices of the both vocalists.
