Meet – the authentic folklore ensemble from Verhniy Bukovets village of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Tafiychuks family group. "Melodies of the Carpathians" is the first album by the ensemble. However, you would not call these people novices – the surname of the Tafiychuks is well known, at least, to those few thousand people who have at least once visited Sheshory ethnic festival. Well, and frequent guests, supposedly, already perceive this family almost as their native one, because the Tafiychuks are, we can say, veterans of this festival and of activities related to it. Actually, some of their music could already be heard before on the official collection devoted to Sheshory – and now time has come for a full-value album. And you know, this is one of those cases when the word combination "rural musicians" sounds really proudly – with such music, it is pleasant to decorate a holiday. Here, on the one hand, mastery of musicians is evident – and on the other, in this music, there is nothing superficial, no superfluous gloss. Live – but qualitatively polished. Direct – but not primitive. Here, frisky fantasy sounds – which, nevertheless, does not give up its roots to the mercy of fate. Briefly, an interesting disc.
