The first solo album by Ulyana Horbachevska – the former member of
"Maisternya Pisni". Perhaps, it would sound surprising if one said – silent music. But – how else could one put it? No, it does not keep silent, it is something different. This is the beauty that can only be born in pure silence, in the situation of total
immersion into, total
emergence from. Somewhat paradoxical: the recording sounds like a monologue, but one perceives it as a genuine dialogue, though without the split into "me" and "you". Maybe, it could be "me" and "Thou", but this is not a split, it is chanting/spelling to one's Self-in-oneself, to the thin world in the routine world. Since they are one, and the only border here is that of perception. And all that seeming minimalism in the music accompaniment, in the singing – it is not about the inability to add color, but due to the vast space inside. Towards which one should make a step – but a step inside, into the depth. And then this brevity turns into true wealth – of semitones, pauses, shadows, and reflections. As if a monochrome picture – you are not distracted by the external diversity, and therefore you begin seeing the subtlest, almost invisible. An amazing album, full of soft light and focused attention, a little flower with the word of silence at dawn..
