Oksana Herasymenko. Po vs‘omu sviti z koljadoju. (Through the Whole World with Christmas Carols)
Oksana Herasymenko is known both in Ukraine, and far beyond its borders – as a great professional, wonderful performer, composer, arranger. Therefore, is it not strange that currently only two of her albums have been released here? Both strange, and – must be – shameful. Listen to the recording, and you will quickly make sure that in its direction this is one of the best Ukrainian albums. Bandura + voice = interesting combination as it is. But in the case of Oksana Herasymenko, it sounds not just interesting, but – bewitching, indeed. And the bewitchment, in its turn, is transparent, effulgent, warm, silver-clear. Academic schooling can be heard in her singing – but at the same time, it contains so much sincere, live comfort, that it cannot but enchant. Besides, the album also has a few additional – not mandatory but pleasant and appropriate – sparkles. First, Olga Luchak (violin) and Myron Bloschychak (rib, pan-pipe) took part in creation of the disc – and they really adorned it with their presence (here, we should mention that Myron Bloschychak is in general a very interesting and diversified musician, his performing can be heard on folklore, rock and even jazz discs). In one song, a bit of sun colors were added with her singing by Oksana's daughter – Kvitana. Moreover – look attentively at the table of content: almost half of the album is made up by Christmas songs of other peoples. And, it should be mentioned, this is not only useful in the sense of education, but also just very beautiful. So, listen to your pleasure – we believe that this disc will be able to present you with a lot of minutes of joy.

"The Bandura Players Trio of the Ukrainian Radio" – the creative credo of this small but amazingly brilliant team is coded in this name. Although its main task is to make audio records for the Ukrainian radio Fund (as it is a well-known collection, which reflects the history of Ukrainian culture) the Trio has a surprisingly bright creative biography..

Bandura-Players Trio of the Ukrainian Radio. Melodiji ridnoho kraju. (Melodies of the Native Land)

If we are not mistaken, you now see already the second album by this trio – it's nice. Because you start listening – and immediately you are shrouded by such spring, real magic, that you don't want to say or do anything – only to listen. Still, in sounding of the bandura there is some lightness and clarity, which is able to raise you unnoticed over the earth..

Volodymyr Luciw. Ukrainian folk songs & dumy.

Volodymyr Luciw is one of those Ukrainian artists who during their whole life have honored and glorified Ukrainian art in the world. But it happened so that an enormous part of his creative life passed outside Ukraine. It is, actually, possible to say that up to a certain moment he was better known and respected abroad than in his motherland.
