"In the second book by Dzvinka Matiash "Novel about the Motherland" there are stories of different women who live and lived in different decades of the past century, heard and narrated by the author." ...but the official annotation does not convey even a tenth part of what in actual fact is contained in this small, as at the first sight, book. I, for example, some time ago bought it just because I really liked "Requiem for November" by Dzvinka Matiash. And as a result I found there something quite different. Externally, the manner remained the same – unhurried, free and fluid, relaxed. But only externally – because inside there is even though an unhurried but clear pulse, there is tension, there is even quite a hard structure, the logic of illumination change. And there is considerably more "November-ness", however strange this might be, than in "Requiem...". A real multi-layer drama unfolds, and it is written with a hand of no longer a girl, but – a woman. This is how it looks. As if someone absolutely unfamiliar – but with familiar features. In Ukrainian. Type of the edition: hard cover Format: 128ő159 mm Number of pages: 172 Publisher: Fact, Kyiv

The novel based on documentary materials of the life of the imperial family (in particular, the legendary Austrian Empress Sissy) immerses the reader into a detective story with political connotations. More intrigue is added by the two-dimensional plot story, due to which the events of the mid-19th century suddenly echo poignantly in Lviv at the beginning of the third millennium.

Lauren believes that there is nothing offensive about the title of her book. This can be compared with the French expression "Ils sont fous", but in a good sense.
