Natalia Tolmachova, Olga Shutko. Romantic Cello. /digi-pack/
Honestly speaking, it is quite difficult to imagine that one can be indifferent to sounding of the violoncello. In the end, it is easier to imagine a person who has just never heard this voice – however, nobody will insert other people's tastes in you... But this disc, it seems, is capable both to make happy those who loves – and to instill love in those who have never paid attention before. It is not for nothing that Olga Shutko as long ago as at the beginning of the 1990s acquired the fame of one of the most talented violoncellists of Ukraine. Afterwards, she became a participant of the State Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Soloists" – and professionalism of this collective does not need any further comments. However, having listened to this album, you will make sure yourself – in the hands of Olga Shutko the instrument not just sounds. The violoncello here lives a saturated live, breathes full breast, flies freely, whispers gently – a great number of colors and emotions are incarnated skillfully, exactly, elegantly. Yes – maybe, it is elegance that may be called one of main features of the album. It refers both to playing by Olga Shutko and Natalia Tolmachova – not rivalry but deep respect and fine mutual understanding sound in the dialog of their instruments. It is from such things that real romanticism grows...

Vitaliy Sobolev, Yevhenia Nesterenko. Mykola Lysenko: Works. /digi-pack/.

This disc was created on the eve of Mykola Lysenko's anniversary – and, perhaps, it should be emphasized that it is work by young performers. It's nice – both because they have managed to record and release this program, and because they chose him – Lysenko. Let us just keep it in mind that one can talk about it, or one can – do it. And it is done – well.

Herman Safonov, Helena Strogan. Berezovsky, Schubert, Ischenko.

"The duo of H. Safonov and H. Strogan, – according to composer Stankovych, – is the highly-professional ensemble of musicians, who differ due to their rich culture, nice understanding of style and form, delicate test, capability of expression of wide imagination and emotional spectrum: from the finest lyricism to wild wide-open emotion..."

Herman Safonov, Helena Strogan. Grieg, Brahms, Galperin.

This is the feeling as if you look at a picture painted in cool tones – and suddenly you understand that it is warm, very saturated emotionally. Then the colors start creating another pattern... Actually, that is why it seems to us that this disc can become a source of significant pleasure for experienced connoisseurs as well.

State chamber ensemble "Kyiv Soloists", Myroslava Kotorovych. Sotvorinnya. /digi-pack/. (Creation)

...music in their performance sounds bright, enchanting – and intimate. They play as though for the whole world – but also as if only for you and only now. However, the listener must also conscientiously perform his/her attentive, concentrated and relaxed work – otherwise, honest exchange will not be possible. Not to speak – to listen.

Ostap Shutko, Leo Witoszynskyj. Cantabile e ritmico.

This is the case when, even knowing the piece well, you all the same discover it anew – and isn't it one of main signs of musicians' level? Well, and in addition – as well as the last time –you will find in the booklet brief but substantial notes by Leo Witoszynskyj about the works performed here.
