This disc was created on the eve of Mykola Lysenko's anniversary – and, perhaps, it should be emphasized that it is work by young performers. It's nice – both because they have managed to record and release this program (not a frequent case in Ukraine now), and because they chose him – Lysenko. We will not speak here of the links of generations, patriotism in arts and the like – things so self-evident that they turn banal. Let us just keep it in mind that one can talk about it, or one can – do it. And it is done – well. Vitaly Sobolev has a soft and light tone of voice – but there is also in it something of bronze covered with that patina. Without undue pressure or posture, it seems that he has really succeeded in revealing the lyricism and beauty of the melodic nuances of the miniatures presented here. Similarly, Yevhenia Nesterenko – she manifests herself gently, but at the end of the album one starts to slightly regret that there are only three plays performed by her solo.
