During a very long time only one full-fledged CD by Valentyn Silvestrov has been released in Ukraine. This is not just a pity – it's a shame. However, by and by something is happening. Thus, now you see a disc recorded during the concert of the Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Soloists" in Kyiv in November, 2007. At that concert, those were dialogue pieces by Silvestrov that were played, largely speaking. The majority of them are his dedications to close people, friends, like-minded colleagues, teachers. The dedications are lyrical, philosophical – saturated with the space of light, transparent sadness. It is a wonderful recording – because of its beauty, calmness and depth, which does credit both the author and the performers. For the thing is not only WHAT was performed – but also HOW. And when the author perceives interpretation of his/her own works as an accomplished one – it does testify to something. And Valentyn Silvestrov referred to the interpretation by the ensemble "Kyiv Soloists" exactly in those terms. From now on, you also have the opportunity to listen to this concert, to hear, feel, perceive, penetrate into it... Do not deprive yourself of this pleasure. And this disc is able to bring great pleasure – there is no doubt of that.
