So then, Christmas carols. To say simply, ceremonial songs, which nearly all of us have known for a long time, which nearly all of us like very much. We like them because they are simple, sincere and warm. If that's the case, why not try and perform them in a more modern manner? After all, they are alive, and the time doesn't stand still, and now we sing not in the way people used to sing a hundred years ago, and, at last, the music, which we now listen to, is quite different. It is exactly this endeavour that the group "Stozhary" tries to realise in this album - here there are some interesting moves, which are worth paying attention to. Saying nothing about entirely pop - but still diverse - manner of performance, I have to mention that here you might hear even jazz notes. This, better than something else, testifies to the fact that corals present a really alive tradition, which now, through our present day, strikes root into our future. I think it is good, as in all this I find a dialogue of times, generations and outlooks. And when roots remain alive and get renewed, then the whole tree has a good chance to live a full-fledged life. Carols themselves are a message of joy and hope, and in this particular perspective, I think, this message is significantly strengthened. Joy and hope grow - receive them.
