Our constant visitors have probably known the choir “Pochaina” very well and for a long time. The next meeting seems to be not less rich and interesting than the previous ones. Today we suggest to your attention two compositions “Liturgy of St. John Zlatoust”. The composers are Artemiy Vedel and Kyrylo Stetsenko. As for Artemiy Vedel, his compositions have become the visiting card of “Pochaina”. And the choir in its turn has become something like talisman for these compositions – because thanks to “Pochaina”, the composer’s creative activities are resuscitated to life. Moreover, if it were not for O. Zhyhun, the leader of the choir, the proposed liturgy might have been lost not partly, but completely. As for Kyrylo Stetsenko, he is a person not less remarkable and respected than Vedel. Truth to tell, in the Soviet times his unworldly divine compositions were set aside, of course. But now we have quite different times. And we have a good chance to plunge into high worlds of two outstanding and profound composers – and may be, to become more delicate than before. At least, “Liturgies” are meant exactly for this purpose.
