Vydubychi Church Chorus. Praise the Lord from the Heavens.

You see in front of you not just a disc but – history. This disc is a second release of the very first record by Vydubichi church choir made in the year of the collective's formation – that is in the already distant 1993. Moreover, exactly with this program in 1994 "Vydubichi" left for their first tour abroad – that was Belgium. Thus, it was by not chance that it was decided for the occasion of the 15^th anniversary of the collective to release exactly this work – as you can see, it is significant for them. However, not only for them, but also for Ukraine – for "Vydubichi" was one of the first church choirs that began performing sacred liturgies in Ukrainian. It is clear that then the pieces represented on this disc sounded as well. They sounded just as you'll hear them – and you will hear that already then it was extraordinarily good. By playing any of the tracks, you will understand that 15 years ago "Vydubichi" did not yield to themselves today either in clarity or in mastery of performance. Sure, we could say that then there was less experience – but, it seems to us, it is impossible to detect that by ear. At all events, this recording seems to us simply wonderful – inspired, quiet, transparent. Just as a service in the Temple must be.
