Povist Mynulykh Lit is one of the oldest creations of the world literature, the first Kyiv Rus monument, in which the history of the state is pictured on the wide background of the world events. In the tale that was being created in the Õ² – the beginning of the Õ²² century by Nestor the Chronicler and other monks the history of Eastern Slavs and princely powers, establishment of Christianity on the Rus are being portrayed, it contains stories about the rise of Slavic written language. It is the Tale, which captured many prominent scientists, who have tried to solve its ancient mysteries.
