The second solo album by Alloise notifies about a shift in some stylistic highlights compared to the debut work. It is clear that there will be no return any longer. There is no need for it, everything is fine. The aggressive in a good sense, funk-ish, and pushing beginning of the album – a promise that it will go on without unnecessary sentiments – is not misleading, even though the next tracks still allow increasingly more twilight phlegma into the overall atmosphere. It is not hard-pop, one can hear well that Alloise has a somewhat different school in the background – but, in any case, that is not about uniform quality of ideas and sounding, the desire to just conform somehow. However, it is not about complete separation from the roots either. Dream-pop, trip-hop, synth pop – one would not say these are full-fledged components of the mixture, but it would be difficult not to notice their echoes. After all, there are also some blues and post-rock strokes. Sure, "Episodes" is pop music, but it is also sure to be intelligent pop-music, multi-layered, and interesting. That lives somewhere on the edge – and thus it is capable of transforming its audience. If you wish, dark pop. The promise of taking through the darkness and bringing into something new – it is there.
