"On the threshold of the Second World War an English aristocrat, Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman) inherits a ranch the size of Maryland located somewhere in the Northern Australia. Knowing that English cattle barons plan to take her land away from her, the new heiress reluctantly consents to accept protection and defense from the rather rude and crude Drover (Hugh Jackman) to drive the herd of two thousand heads hundreds of miles away, to the most deserted corner of the Australian land. And, as if those difficulties are not enough for her, during their long way the lady boss and her defender hardly escape bombing of the Australian city of Darwin by Japanese military forces, which a few months before attacked Pearl Harbor."
