The quartet of Danyl Zverkhanovsky – a student of Volodymyr Shabaltas – performed in the first part of this concert. However, without regard to the fact of the apprenticeship, two aspects are worth noting. First, the guitar in Danyl's hands sounds not so assertively as that of Shabaltas – and in his manner you feel a sort of a lyric, soft view at the music fiber. However, it in no way interferes with technical mastery – vice versa, due to such approach the technique acquires the quality of a "correct" sauce that makes music by the quartet brighter overall, but not dry. Actually, the second aspect is connected with that: the quartet consists of young musicians, but – truly skillful ones. This, in fact, is the fresh blood that may last long...
The second part of the concert is performance by the renowned jazz masters: Pavlo Shepeta Trio includes, besides him, Max Gladetsky and Valery Volkov. They have long been requiring no additional recommendations – because behind the shoulders of each of them there are quite a lot of performances, projects, albums. However, unfortunately, no solo ones – and that is why it is worth noting that that evening the trio's program consisted of pieces by Pavlo Shepeta (plus the wonderful arrangement of the folk song "Mlada Sits"). And his author music, no doubt, deserves favorable attention of the public – both as it is, and performed by the Trio. These are just masters – in every sound, every note. It seems that everything is so simple – but how beautiful, exact, quiet and, at the same time, emotional... This disc – thoughtful, transparent, romantic – can easily adorn the evening of a hard day. And not one – and not only hard...
