Despite the fact that Oleh Serdyuk (Younnat) is the keyboard player of the band Luk – or maybe right because of that – the world sees already his second solo album. This time on the physical medium. And it’s great that it was issued, as Oleh creates interesting, ambiguous music. It seems to be transparent, as it isn’t in a hurry to make a two hundred beat per minute, but it also is saturated, as almost every theme is based on polyrhythm. It also seems to be brittle – partially because Younnat is actively using different sounds from life and technical sounds. Something similar to the noise of a screwdriver, keyboard, sound of a play-station etc. – they give certain dryness to the sound. On the other side there are light, flexible melodies, colored with drum’n’bass feeling, sometimes with a colored atmospheric background, and sometimes with something weightless, but swift. Strange sounds combine with usual ones and the urban music of happiness and loneliness, observing and interest is being born. Yet Kharkiv musicians can sing the city – sing in allusions. That is why in their music very often there is more music, than one can hear with the help of ears.
