"Oneyroid" band in general, and the album "Hoden" in particular are a good example of that there is proper time for everything, one just needs to be attentive to internal movements, not to miss the moment of ripening. Actually, in the 20-year history of the band, this album is its first release in the Ukrainian language – but not because it is fashionable, or requested, or something. Most of the lyrics were written in the previous century, in the 1990ies, the most recent text is from 2008. So – it is just that the time has come. This is evidenced by the music component as well – you cannot hear any rush, distraction here. Everything is in place, and, oh, there is enough of that all. A complex, multi-layered palette – however, it is always so with "Oneyroid", you should only think about the previous album "Giftstoffe" – as a guarantee of that it will be interesting to hear the album not only for the first time, but also for the third, the fifth one... This is music with its own identity. Even the fact that the language of performance and the general theme seem to induce us to definitions like "folk-rock", which is now widespread everywhere – this by no means undermines originality. And it's not only about interesting arrangements – listen to the lyrics: this is not simulation of rural folklore, this is its urban rethinking, but not limited to the city. Somewhere there, a universal key to the roots resides...
