There is no sense in saying much about this disc – it would rather be reasonable to listen to it. Especially – if you already know for sure that you like the Ukrainian variety art of the 1960-80s of the 20th cent. If it is terra incognita – you should listen to the disc the more so as soon as possible. By its mood, the music represented here somehow reminds beginnings of the American jazz, approximately the 1920-40s. Here I emphasize – by the mood. Actually, these songs, almost all of them without exception, contain the special, touching secret of the naive and sincere sounding. The modern variety art no longer contains such a mystery, and, presumably, will never have it again. Because now it is both a show, and business – to a considerably greater extent than before. And before – it is difficult to believe it, but such was life. From outside it was simple, transparent, honest. And, strange enough, from within it also was often like this. Such was music. No, not the standard, certainly. But – a reflection, mood, and documentary proof of something that now you will no longer come across.
