What Serhiy Shyshkin does in this album, may – although with some considerations for local features, colors, style, etc., but almost without any adjustment for mood – be called the blues. Anyway, one can hear that his music grows from blues and ragtime (although it is not limited to them). This is, perhaps, not surprising, because the way of life and thinking of Shyshkin is reminiscent of old bluesmen – who now have virtually disappeared. And that's a pity. For all of us sometimes need simple things, in which one can see a clear reflection of this complex world. However, Serhiy Shyshkin's songs are not that simple – but there is no posing to trick one's eyes, so everything looks crisp and clear. Ironic, sad, hard, just smiley – everything is here. Except for – denial of the wonder of our life. How we live it – that is another issue, but it constantly offers us: come, take, fill it in and give it away. And you will be filled. I think this is what the "Reasoning Individual" album is about – very honest and, therefore, truly alive.
