In Ukraine, only group singing and Carpathian instrumental music have been preserved in their authentic form. That is why in modern music attempts of implanting folk singing and the instrumental tradition in popular music appear as important experience.
The project "Make Merry, Youth!" is an attempt to connect in the ethno-pop music genre reconstructed samples of folk and professional traditions of the center and east of Ukraine, use authentic music instruments, playing techniques and sound scales for their full-fledged introduction into modern youth culture. And also – to make the ear of a wide audience of listeners used to the new timbres, and the eye – to adequate visual perception of the little-known old-world bandura, lyre, "goat" bagpipe, tambourine, buhalo alongside with the habitual guitars, synthesizers, drums... Listen how interesting it sounds. And then try that yourself – and you'll see how well you manage...
