It must be clear
a priori that "In Piano" is music with on the grand piano. No intrigue?.. But the album's title could also be read in a different way: music that is played quietly. Played in silence. Played into silence. And here, it seems, we are approaching the essence of it: with this album Myroslav Levytsky does – what? speaks – to whom? argues (or, conversely, agrees) – with what? There is the temptation with these questions to arrive at the word "eternity", but there is also the risk that then there appear overtures of pathos, which is not really there. This music is about something different. And there is even no desire to talk about some kind of allusions or parallels, though, perhaps, here one could discover a couple of dialogs – including those with works composed some three hundred years ago. So, in front of whose face is "In Piano" performed? why was this maximum approximation effect created, when even supposedly accidental sounds intertwine with the musical fabric without destroying it – that when listening, you become the piano, and the music passing through it, and the waves produced by the music? where from and where to is this – the intimacy?
