Sure, it could not be rid of acting mastery – nevertheless. This is a sort of very right, pleasant simplicity. Just the one than makes it possible to perceive it not as the Glorified Text of the Glorified Kobzar, but simply as – the word. Word. Living, hot, real – and surprisingly up-to-date. This looks, honestly speaking, as a little miracle – for it is not a secret that official solemnity surrounding the figure of Shevchenko has almost managed to transform him in perception of an ordinary person into a "stone block", a petrified symbol. And "Monologue of Loneliness" – again returns truly live, direct perception. By the way, it is also necessary here to attract attention to the role of Myhailo Chemberdzhi. He already long ago acquired the reputation of a master of transparent music – and he does it again. His music on this disc is light, transparent indeed, unobtrusive. But at the same time – deeply emotional, mobile: it very delicately reflects and emphasizes, intensifies meaning of the words that sound here. As a result, "Monologue of Loneliness" is a really good disc that it is simply pleasant both to hold in one's hands, and to listen to. Pleasant – and interesting.
