This disc contains approximately one third or a quarter of all songs recorded by the group "Vij". Really, though having rather long history, the group has recorded not that much. But the songs that you are going to hear here are not the best of all. Because this group, actually, does not have any worse songs. Frankly speaking, all songs by "Vij" are the best, here there are no “hit” pieces. For example, virtually all the texts can be safely characterized as perfect, sharp – as they never contain superfluous words. It is possible to characterize them as universal as well. Since precise, exact words are as if sharp spokes, and sheets of senses are strung on them almost endlessly. That is why the pagan space here is imposed on the space of megapolises so that they quite integrally coexist, cooperate – and open windows into new dimensions. Approximately the same happens to the group’s music. At first it may seem that it is just rock. But then the oriental percussion appears from somewhere. Then – there appears a melody that reminds shamen of the North. Or – powerful, hot rhythms that turn emotional slackness into ashes. And then almost pure art begins. But again and again everything goes back to the Ukrainian magic, which one cannot describe – but one can feel it. As it is honest. And you understand that "Vij" is one of the most uncommon phenomena in the Ukrainian rock music. And you will want to find out more.
