Vladimir Zinkovsky. Music First!

Surprisingly light and friendly album – by the way, the first one in the Ukrainian discography of Volodymyr Zinkovsky. One feels at once: it is the variety of lightness that is rooted in truly extensive experience. In fact, that's what that is – Zinkovsky has experience that is not only rich, but also extraordinarily varied both geographically, and stylistically. And in any format or composition he feels well today – from a large orchestra to a solo, as the author of music and as a sideman, it does not matter. Probably, the thing is that he no longer feels any urgent need to prove anything to anyone – instead, there is both the desire and ability to enjoy what one does. At all events, Volodymyr obviously enjoys this music – and does prevent his colleagues from doing the same) Quietly, nicely, confidently and – in the best sense of it – modestly. One can say this far not about any album: this time the musicians came together exactly for the sake of the music-as-the-state. Not for the sake of ambitions, not for the desire to say something absolutely new, not because of the need for money – but only because sometimes such recordings must happen. Quiet and transparent, relaxed and benevolent – the recordings with which it is just pleasant to spend some time of one's life.
