The choir has been existing for 15 years – personally I find this fact to be rather dull. As for me, the fact that Yevnash took part, for example, in public worships with the participation of Joann Paul II and the Pope more than once, is richer. This very fact at once speaks about the level, and it comes as no surprise that abroad the choir it taken with pleasure – the geography of its concert tour is rather rich. Though, you know that in general Ukrainian songs can somehow attract attention to themselves. In this particular case we have the possibility to listen to Ukrainian folk songs adopted by composers who are well known and by composers who are not so well known. And when you are listening to them, another interesting fact appears. Here usual Ukrainian songs sound as spiritual ones, though they seem to have nothing to do with the church. So then, here a song as it is acquires a new quality and a new content – to be exact, an old and almost forgotten content. It can be explained by the fact that any song is a prayer, and its sounding has a sacral meaning. Well, may be not all songs, kolomyiky should not be stuck here. But in general – there’s much to think about. And much to listen to.
