Guitar Kolo. /digi-pack/.
It seems that the guitar still remains one of the most popular instruments in the eyes of young people. Although you can, probably, hardly say that about Ukrainian jazz – here, guitarists far not that often undertake the role of protagonists. At that, we do have enough good masters – the other thing is that it is not that easy to hear them. At all events, the "reference book" represented does not really pretend to be all embracing – it is clear that not all those who could have appeared here. And you will see that the thing here is not only technical mastery – a good musician must also interest with stylistics, the composition, right? And, in the end, it is considerably more interesting to observe not that much masterly passages but styles, which our guitarists prefer. During the Guitar Kolo concert, the main tone was set by fusion – but on the studio collection it does not really strike the eye. And that is for good – because every retreat from a general direction looks even brighter then. And here you, in fact, have enough of such retreats. For this reason, this is far not a dry "reference book" – this is a collection that it is really interestingly to listen to. And useful.

Drum kolo live. (2CD). /digi-pack/

Our best drummers are so different from each other and create such different music that it just makes one happy. And this diversity, it seems, in some paradoxical way results in that the main characters of this concert virtually do not compete with each other – everybody does something own, special indeed.

Drum Kolo. (2CD). /digi-pack/

Another volume of the audio reference book by the "Jazz Kolo" project is, as you see, focused on masters of drumkit playing. It is nice to see that this time there again appears so much material that the compilers did not manage to squeeze everything into one disc. It is nice to see that there is enough space both for "veterans" of the Ukrainian jazz, and for the absolutely young generation..

V Jazze tol'ko devushky – 3. (Girls in Jazz)

With such music, it is easy to start one’s day, it is easy to go through it, easy to meet evenings and midnights. Nevertheless, whatever you might do, it is characteristic of female singing to harmonize the space – and here, on the disc, this property is revealed very brightly and convincingly. Ladies, be proud!

Bass kolo live. (2CD). /digi-pack/

..this evening interesting and even to some extent unexpected "specialized" combinations popped up unexpectedly – as, for example, the bass guitar plus contrabass, the acoustic bass plus the 8-string one, and so on, to say nothing about the last performance of the concert – a piece performed by all bass musicians involved.

Bass Kolo. /digi-pack/

This series sets the goal of creating a sort of a reference book of Ukrainian jazz musicians – grouping them by spheres of professionalization. Actually, the first disc of the new series is focused on the bass – both the bass guitar and the contrabass. At that, this time these are already studio, not concert recordings.

Guitar kolo live. /digi-pack/

It happened so that I did not attend this concert – and the very first two plays from the disc made me feel sorry about that. Jazz-fusion in various displays, for every participant has his own vision of this style – is really an interesting thing, especially when played well. And with that everybody coped, you would not even dare to say who on that evening sounded more poignantly.
