"The history of the choir "Soli Deo" dates back to the Christmas of 1996. one day the young participants of the parish choir of St. Onufriy (Lviv) discovered that they could sing on their own... This group of merry young people, who went caroling from house to house, has become the core of the "Soli Deo" of today. In the beginning of 1997 the newly-created choir was invited to sing in the Centre of Youth Parish – the church of Holy Eucharist.

"Soli Deo" has traveled extensively through Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Belarus, France, Lithuania. In 2000 the choir took part in the World Congress of students and professiors in Rome, where it was a participant of the mutual prayer with the Pope. ..Participation in the Divine Liturgy ith Jan Paul II during his visit to Ukraine in June 25-27, 2001 is undoubtedly considered by the choir the most honourable singing.

Ukrainian carols – is a unique combination of the two thousand-year-old Christian spirituality and national rhythms, motives and images, created along centuries. Being performed by the choir, these tunes gain new, and somewhere unusual modern accents."
