Concerts of the second season of the project Jazz-Kolo, in contrast to the first one, were devoted no longer to solo projects, but to specific instruments. Thus, the Piano Kolo concert turned into a mini festival of Ukrainian jazz pianists. And it deservedly caused considerable interest – the program on that evening appeared surprisingly saturated and diversified. In the end, the quality and volume of the material represented inspired organizers for a rather decisive step: this concert of the project has become the first one released in the two-disc format – because, according to
Igor Zakus, it was just impossible to give up any of the plays represented here for the sake of squeezing into the format of one disc. We, on our side, can only thank them for such a humane approach – for, disregarding the variety of styles, there is not a single "occasional" composition, indeed. For example,
Oleksiy Bogolyubov – romantic and refined, his plays really charmed with their internal energy; or
Sergiy Davydov – he was the only one on that evening who was performing solo, but he managed to satiate the space to the very edges with transparent harmony; or
Illya Yeresko – he was playing, virtually, in the most emotional way and, at the same time, extraordinarily technically, due to which even complicated moments were perceived surprisingly easily. Well, and so on – we believe that this recording really will not disillusion a single interested listener.
