Dance music is a component part of everyday and artistic life of the Ukrainian people. Dance never exists without music. It is music that determines the generalized emotional essence of a dance, its choreographic patterns, form, rhythm, themes.

Every region of our Ukraine has its characteristic dances: metelytsya, hopak, tropak, cozachok, kolomyika, guzulka, polka, waltz, quadrille, as well as dances having story names: "Sewer", "Blacksmith", "Mower", "Chasethewind", "Lasso", "Twitcher", etc. The National Orchestra of folk instruments of Ukraine has really a lot of dance music in its reserve. This disc represents music by Ukrainian composers that created their pieces based on folklore dance music materials of the region where they lived. Thus, the disc has appeared varied both in music and in genres. Moreover, apart from that this music can be used as dance staging applied material, it has great aesthetic, artistic value. High level of professionalism of the whole orchestra, bright originality of the performance style, colorful orchestrations make it possible to feel the whole perfection of the music pieces offered.

Optimism, joy, merriment together with the delicate and tender feeling – these human features are reflected in the melodies that you will hear on this disc.
