First, it's just beautiful – and, moreover, not that simple. Anna Mia Quintet musicians have recorded a seemingly chamber album, but this music would be no less appropriate on a large stage. Very intimate, with a bunch of soft pauses and undertones in its colors – and, at the same time, very prominent, voluminous. Interesting. It's authors' music (moreover, Anna Mia is also the author of most of the lyrics), in which several styles are mixed, from academic to soul – but in a way that turns it into seamless, very floating, sophisticated jazz canvas. The rhythm section, the trumpet, the keyboards – it is difficult to distinguish a separate line, as they all sound equally balanced, accurate, radiant, even in the muted tones of the general concept. And in all this multi-layered mix, the vocals are sometimes definitely fascinating. The album is all in all very melodic, but Anna Mia still adds depth, playfulness, and delicacy with her singing – as if morning haze in the air that transforms outlines of familiar reflections into a promise of mystery. In short, one only has to repeat it: it is beautiful.
