This edition is quite unusual. Actually, there are two components: pictures by Ivan Marchuk and music by Valentyn Sylvestrov (performed by
Bohdana Pivnenko and
Valeriy Matyukhin). As for the music, this very recording has already been released as an audio CD titled
"Fleeting Melodies" – it is available on our website. As for the pictures – this is an exclusive offer, Ivan Marchuk did not previously release anything of that sort. Thus: the disc offers a continuous slide show accompanied by the music cycle as an uninterrupted loop. Titles of the paintings are not indicated, there is no menu that would make it possible to freely move from one picture (or music piece) to another – this is, in this case, a coherent visual and music composition. One can, certainly, project it, say, on a big screen as a background for something else – but, I think, it would be better to find a free hour and just dive into this space. An extraordinary space – no exaggeration. Because at some point the feeling emerges that it is not just a parallel existence, but – a dialogue, mutual complementing and disclosure of the two outstanding, very subtle and profound artists...
