Acoustic Quartet. USB-blues.
The Kharkiv team Acoustic Quartet is young both in view of the age of its participants and of its own chronology. Based on subjective perception, however, one does have the intention to name the music of its debut disc not young (i.e.: "lacking experience"), but, probably – fresh. This is as though the disc is thoroughly penetrated with the green tone – the flexible and magic color of fresh leaves. The album really contains something of the spring breathing – the easy and elevated, but at the same time serious pace. "USB-Blues" resembles meditation – mobile. And it is possible to really hear how the idea appears, the first step – and then it literally grows in front of your eyes, develops, blossoms. There appears the effect of presence – and, which is nice, repeated listening does not make it wash out. That is, there is a space of attention – both mutual, among the musicians, and individual attention – and it attracts, turns you from an observer into a full-fledged participant of the events. Due to this, one feels almost physically how much, except for inspiration, of tolerant – work, collaboration – has been invested here. Obviously, it is as a result of such approach that the guys have succeeded in stepping back from formal construction of compositions: both solo moments, and extra instruments sound only where they are really in place – and sound well, each of the musicians has made a contribution here in his own way. On the whole, "USB-Blues" is a somewhere transparent and sober, somewhere unrestrainedly lyric, and sometimes even cautious album. But it seems to me that in any case and virtually every minute – joyful. In the end, joy not always laughs – sometimes one cannot hear it without silence...

Cherkasy Jazz Quintet. Kontrapunkt. /digi-pack/. (Counterpoint)

Some of the authors that you'll encounter here are Morgan, McCartney, Bogolyubov, etc. – hence, that's a crossing of quite diverse time, country, and style lines. What that sounds like: as if the boundaries in space and time do not exist. Well, as it should be, actually. Coherence, skills of the quintet are at the highest level, and the new album is another confirmation of that.

Cherkasy Jazz Quintet. Return Music to Me. /digi-pack/.

The wonderful team Cherkasy Jazz Quintet by Serhiy Krasheninnikov celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2014. "Return Music To Me" is their seventh album already. The pieces recorded on this disc are, to put it mildly, unusual for a classical (by composition) jazz quintet, which is also an adept of the traditional hard bop...

Cherkasy Jazz Quintet. Jazz album with a prologue and epilogue. /re-edition, digi-pack/.

Jazz music, by definition being in a permanent creative quest, at the same time possesses surprising tolerance and is not afraid to look back... The music represented on this disc suggests that we rewind the tape of history for about 50 (and more) years back and plunge in the times when (wonder!) music instruments were still the key transmitters and sources of music.

Cherkasy Jazz Quintet. Remembering the Beatles. (re-edition). /digi-pack/.

Thus – thirteen LP albums by "The Beatles", one song from each. Something is closer to the original, something is farther: jazz is music that is free in its creative search and discoveries. Let us hope that this new CD by Cherkasy Jazz Quintet will turn to be a nice present both for fans of "The Beatles", and for fans of jazz...

Cherkasy Jazz Quintet. Confirmation. (re-edition). /digi-pack/.

"...In our employees, we appreciate Creativity and the ability of Teamwork, of hearing and supporting each other. In a democratic society we crave for Freedom and dream of living in Joy. Lord, but I have just described JAZZ! In music and in life!.."

Dmitry "Bobeen" Alexandrov, Jazz Atmosphere. Time After Break.

On the one hand, there seems no be nothing superfluous – even Aleksandrov, oddly enough, has not added too much pepper, even though he knows how to do it at the level of "excellent". And on the other – the organism works so smoothly, without failures, that the entire album literary flies at one breath...

Oleh Pashkovsky Quartet. +1. /digi-pack/.

...a true galaxy of musicians with modern thinking, unique vision of the musical space, and an excellent technique. Actually, already the debut album by Oleh Pashkovsky is a good example of how interesting, thoughtful, versatile the young improvisational music in Ukraine can be.
Domestic price: 250.60UAH, International price: $17.90USD

Er.J.Orchestra. The Unicorn. (remastered). /digi-pack/.

This is the third album in the official discography of Er.J.Orchestra. And I really hope that it will be not a stop, not completion of the trilogy, but one of the many pearls on the thread. Such music simply must be incarnated, sound, fill the space – at least because honest beauty, dignity, authenticity live in it...

Kiev Acoustic Trio. Moment.

Three musicians with huge experience recorded something transparent, subtle, and humanly simple – something that majority of young ones could not do. Just because there is simplicity which can be saturated, to which you come through hundreds of melodies and thousands of hours of rehearsals and performances.
Domestic price: 200.20UAH, International price: $14.30USD

Vladimir Zinkovsky. Music First!

Volodymyr obviously enjoys this music – and does prevent his colleagues from doing the same) Quietly, nicely, confidently and – in the best sense of it – modestly. One can say this far not about any album: this time the musicians came together exactly for the sake of the music-as-the-state..
Domestic price: 138.60UAH, International price: $9.90USD

Nataliya Lebedeva Ensemble. Medium Cool live.

All the musicians appear in some new, specific and delicate light - and, I believe, this is a merit of Lebedeva as a composer. It is not by chance that Igor Zakus at the beginning of the evening referred to her music as very female one... Expressive – and soft, caring; elegant, distinct – and, at the same time, very emotional, open to intercourse; sometimes anxious – and very lyrical...

Jazz Impression, Alexey Krupsky, Anatoly Alexanian. Marfa. /digi-pack/

This kind of 3D, really composer's vision in jazz is encountered far not every day – and certainly comes into notice. It thrills and inspires some, with some it causes protest – but, as a rule, does not leave indifferent. Because when a feeling stands behind music supported by a developed thought...

Sergiy Davydov. Ukrainian Jazz Round Dances.

It either laughs or winks wilily – or sounds with such pensive tenderness, such forgivene... There is the beauty of every minute, which does not depend on the past or the future, which is – just now, and for this reason – always.
Domestic price: 460.60UAH, International price: $32.90USD

Alexey Bogolyubov. My "Cool & Crazy" world. /digi-pack/

From the first seconds, the album tunes one into attentive perception – even if you have never before heard Olexiy Bogolyubov. And if you have already had the chance, it will a priori be interesting to listen. Internal harmony, balance both of each play and of the disc as a whole – pleasantly delights. "My "Cool & Crazy" World" is a beautiful, diversified work, in which Bogolyubov demonstrated himself well both as the performer, and as the composer.
Domestic price: 348.60UAH, International price: $24.90USD

Nataliya Lebedeva Ensemble. Medium Cool.

Strange: although you could hardly characterize the album as quiet, unemotional – it leaves the feeling of tranquility...the heart and mind sound equal, do not argue, search for harmonious interlacing. And discover it – not only in sounds, in the whole atmosphere.
Domestic price: 320.60UAH, International price: $22.90USD
