"This is the first Ukrainian translation of the meridian work by Shakespeare in the third millennium, the play that never abandoned the scene since the moment of its creation – up until today. Hamlet can be perceived in any way – in the spirit of classics or post-modernism, however, it is difficult to find a person who would not be staggered with the tragedy of the prince of Denmark. Ideally, this work should be translated by virtually every generation – with the vocabulary, accents and nuances characteristic of it only. Two significant figures of the modern Ukrainian cultural space – the writer Yuriy Andrukhovych and illustrator Vladyslav Yerko – have carried out our edition of "Hamlet". Their version of "Hamlet" is a happy opportunity to experience the genius work anew, to sharply feel its eternal actuality and contemporaneity."
