The Ukrainian chivalry has a glorious history, it is clearly heard both in Cossack songs and arrangements by Sich Riflemen. The military spirit, courage, commitment to the cause of national liberation, valor, disobedience – all these qualities were an integral part of many rebel marching songs. Rebels had to fight for Ukraine on two fronts: against German fascists with their allies, and against the Stalinist Moscow – which is also illustrated by songs from this collection. However, lyrical feelings are also an integral part of rebel songs' creation...
Now liberation songs continue living in the routine of Plast activists, Ridnovirs, modern Cossacks and nationally conscious Ukrainians. The need to sing them will be relevant until there is relevancy in the words "Oh, I have suffered for Ukraine, but Ukraine does not yet exist"..." (information from the disc's polygraphy)
