The festival of ethnic music and land-art Sheshory is quite young – but it has already had time to seriously come into notice not only in Ukraine, but also beyond its boundaries. And here, finally, for the first time recordings made during festival concerts appear on free sale. Earlier, they were released in limited editions, only for presentation activities. But as the festival has caused genuine interest among the public – a lot of people impatiently expected for free access to recordings from it. Thus, what do we have? The disc represents recordings of 2005-2007. In this case, the emphasis is made exactly on ethnic music – professional and amateur collectives performing folk music in its authentic form or as a very tolerant arrangement. They perform it brightly, coolly – it is not by chance that these collectives have been invited to the festival activities for already several years in succession. And for some of them Sheshory have even discovered some new horizons: the family ensemble of the Tafiychuks obtained as a result the opportunity to release their music – and the debut disc has already seen the light of the day. Thus, this is an interesting kaleidoscope for which we have been expecting for a long time already – consequently, the only thing left now is to listen. With pleasure. The disc has an original pasteboard case.

...this album contains, apart from the rest, songs for Christmas and Easter. However, the objective of that concert program was to demonstrate to Ukrainians the widest possible palette of Georgian singing – so, festive, lyrical, feast, humorous and other songs from various regions of Georgia, instrumental melodies, as well as solo singing could be heard there.

One song, another one, and here it already seems that when performing they appear in some different dimension, fly up in sorrow and tranquility. Here the song fades, and in an instant the audience applauds sincerely - and these applauses seem to abruptly bring the women back on the scene. Possibly, too abruptly – and again they squint at the light, smile awkwardly. But in another moment a new song starts – and a new splash, new release in tranquility...

...music recorded at the CD is really various, cheerful and alive. I would like to stress – alive. Forty one tracks – forty one groups from the whole country, and at that there’s no synthesizers here. It is, I’d rather say, a force...

Meet – the authentic folklore ensemble from Verhniy Bukovets village of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Tafiychuks family group. "Melodies of the Carpathians" is the first album by the ensemble. However, you would not call these people novices – the surname of the Tafiychuks is well known, at least, to those few thousand people who have at least once visited Sheshory ethnic festival.
