Perkalaba. Hovoryt' Ivano-Frankivs'k. (Ivano-Frankivsk Speaking)

If you do not know how the cover for this disc was created – you should read the satirical article by Taras Prohasko "Photos, Fellini and "Sharika"". Strongly recommended (by the way, if I am not mistaken, Prohasko's face can be also seen on this cover). However, the issue is not literature now. But one of the best Ukrainian groups in the folk-ska style: Perkalaba does not yield its positions, vice versa – it spins up. Considering their fantastic energy, it seems almost impossible, but – it is a fact. Just now this reckless drive transforms into a somewhat different quality, another dimension. Actually, it is rather difficult to describe this with words. If earlier music by Perkalaba resembled a continuous squall, powerful flow, which blew the audience off from their seats and carried somewhere far away... Now – whirlpools appear in the flow sporadically. They seem to be quiet outside, but they suck you in, make you dive deep – and there, in the depth, each time you find something new, unexpected. Perkalaba has managed what seems impossible – to merge folk-ska and psychedelics, not forgetting about banter as well. Both in music and in the lyrics. Movement in this direction took place before, but now it has acquired even brighter, more expressive features. And this, you know, takes you away. If it goes on... however, there is no sense in imagining that. It is better to listen to it now – to wait – and to listen again.
