Mykhaylo ILLenko: "The book "Cure of Phantom Pain" for me is part of the movie "FireCrosser". At least one third of it. When I meet my audience, they very often ask me: "Tell us, how did you shoot this film?" I won't tell you about the film. This book speaks about shooting of one frame – the first frame of the movie about the Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Datsenko, who became a chef of a Native Indian tribe in Canada. It took six months of a trip on the "Kupava" yacht across the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean from Kyiv to Buenos Aires, 8,500 nautical miles long, to shoot this frame. This trip had to be supplemented with 1,100 km more in a car along the route of Buenos Aires – Mendoza province on the border with Chile in the Cordillera.
The other two-thirds are presented with the DVD containing the following:
- the film "FireCrosser"
- 700 color photos from the trip on the "Kupava" yacht.
