As far as I know, among all marches the German ones are considered to be a sample. Even not German, but much older ones, that is, Prussian. Still, as for me, the music recorded at this disc is also worthy of notice, because when you hear the word “march”, your imagination starts looking for some boring, strict and clear images. In general, it is right. But the thing is, that when I am listening to these marches, they do not seem to be boring for me. On the contrary – they are somehow lush. It even seems to me that they may be called cheerful, though it might sound strange. May be, it is possible to discern another manifestation of a national character in this, because to my mind cheerfulness may be entirely considered a national feature of Ukrainians. Cheerfulness and some kind of detachment, thanks to which you consider the life more attentively and thanks to this fact you live your life more wholly, though more chaotically at the same time. Well, such impressions and ideas are aroused in me by this recording. It raises my spirits in a surprising way and inspires an unhurried cheerfulness. A pleasant feeling. I say nothing about hymns – there are only two of them at this disc. But they are pleasant.
