Too bad "Anatolij" doesn't like this album -- goes to show what passes for "music" in Ukraine today, I think. (Been there too, many times, and I hear what blares from their mini-vans and windows). I am no spring chicken, am 4th generation Ukrainian on both sides and I have heard and made Ukrainian music for many years. Let no one say it's "not authentic". Sheesh. This album is a joy to listen to, strikes an excellent balance of tradition with the proper "new millennium tweaks", and should be in the library (no, in the CD player) of everyone with a drop of Ukr. blood. Don't have a clue who the artists are, personally, but wish I did -- great job, guys!

As I listen to this CD of drinking songs, I can see, in my mind, joyous gatherings with glasses raised high, friends toasting each other and having a wonderful time together. It is fun to listen to and much enjoyed.

Valerij Marenych is wonderfully easy to listen to with his guitar and harmonica playing, along with his singing. Most is gentle music, making it very pleasant to the ears. I will enjoy this CD for many, many years.

This has a wide variety of tempos, textures and feeling - a true joy to listen to. As usual, I am in awe of the a capella singing with such purity.

This Orthodox Church music is incredibly beautiful and ethereal, making one feel they are, indeed, in a holy place. I would recommend it highly to anyone who enjoys the a capella singing of Church music. As always, I am in awe of the ability to sing a capella and stay on perfect pitch!

Glorious purity of voices, sounding like a heavenly choir, sending peace through my soul. As usual, it is a capella, wondrously pure and beautiful!

Дійсно, музика не зовсім схожа на творчість Олі в Flёur, але атмосфера близька. Тексти як завжди на висоті, звук якісний. Пісні дуже чуттєві, легкі, але для сприйняття потребують уваги слухача. Творчість гурту неможливо сприймати тільки як "темну", "похмуру" чи "світлу", "легку", що породжує певне відчуття реалістичності.

My parents had 2 or 3 old long playing records of Veryovka that I still today remember hearing scratching away on a record player . I had searched for many years unsuccesfully to find CD,s or tapes , until now . This masterful choir produces exquisite 6 -7 part harmonies and superb strong voiced soloists .
Anyone who wants to understand and feel the soul of Ukrainian culture , joy , fighting spirit , kindredship need do no more than listen to these superb CD's .

квітка цисик-найкраща співачка.Після того, як я її послухала ,мені хотілося плакати.Вона увійшла в моє серце.Вона завжди зі мною.Мене звати Оля і мені 11 років, але я її обожнюю.Тому,якщо у когось є якісь або тексти пісень або ноти цих пісень ,будь ласка ,розміщуйте їх ,якщо у вас є така можливість.

Ця група — справжня знахідка! Хоч в Україні уже немало рок-груп, але серед них не багато груп з гарним почуттям ритму і музики, мелодії яких одразу б запам'ятовувалися. Пропала грамота — одна з тих небагатьох груп, що можуть з першого акорду привернути до себе увагу слухача. Пісня "Довбуш" — це взагалі справжній шедевр, який хочеться слухати знову і знову.

Пісні змістовні і насичені, як в плані текстів, так і в плані музики. Не знаю, який то там стиль, але послухати дуже приємно!

Впервые услышал чудесное пение Квитки Цисек, несколько месяцев тому назад, и был очарован! Сегодня, наконец, получил два диска и прослушал их с огромным волнением. Не смог сдержать слезы...Трудно передать словами все что я испытываю слушая Квитку! Это гимн Украине, которую она безгранично любила. Красота украинского языка и украинской песни безмерны!
Мне 75 лет, и меня трудно удивить чем нибудь. Но сейчас я просто потрясен ! И дети мои, и внуки зачарованы песнями Квитки Цисек. Благодарю Господа, за то что смог услышать эту божественную певицу!
Очень благодарен также авторам этого сайта за их благородный труд, за то дали нам воможность испытать настоящее счастье.

I saw the band live in Munchen in October and I absolutely had to buy their albums after that. The live show was spectacular, but I think they manage to capture a great deal of the same energy on their albums as well. Highly recommended for anyone!

I was very impressed. I had wanted to see the movies in Ukrainian for a while now & was always told that they weren't available in Ukrainian. I saw it already in English and the translation was superb. Good job to the translator & hope you have more movies.
