In fact, it is the debut album by Tonya Matvienko, although some of her songs have already been released before in various collections, including the joint disk with her mother, Nina Matvienko. Given the rapid development of Tonya's music career lately – it is even surprising that the album has been released only now. On the other hand, it could mean that she did not disregard the possibility of more thorough handling of the material. And the result deserves attention due to its.. ambiguity. For the most part – in a good way. Because in the end it turns out a pop album very generously seasoned with folk motifs (this is about Tonya's very style of singing, and the instruments + arrangements, and the fact that there are several folk songs on the track list), with a nod toward the Ukrainian variety art (actually, that's due to the "synth" rhythm lining – which is, as they say, not to everybody's liking), plus semi-jazz hints. The latter are due to the musicians – Max Hladetsky, Armen Kostandyan, and Vitaly Delestyanov. Experience is a useful thing, and it is nice that their experience was helpful here. Finally, the cover indicates the format of the recording – studio live – and not everyone would master that. In this case, they have succeeded – at a quality level. A good debut.

This album is a response to expectations of everyone who realized that Tina Karol was capable of much more than what she had so far demonstrated. Stuff of that kind was something that not only Tina, but the entire Ukrainian "first echelon pop scene" missed. A test (for herself and her habitual audience), a pilot..

Anyway, the album turns out really atmospheric – it seems to invite to recall the past, but at the same time goes slightly beyond time limits. Because Lucyna's songs are about stories that occur at all times – where there are two people and something between them..

This ensemble, which is actually a duet, performs the most popular Ukrainian folk songs. But – pay attention – an academic vocal performance sounds here. As for the musical accompaniment, it is not academic at all. That’s why this disc is meant for those listeners who do not like opera so much, but listen to a beautiful and skilful singing with great pleasure.

Rushnychok ensemble consists of only two people – but when listening to the disc you would never say that. However, another thing is the main specificity of the ensemble. Namely – the voices of the both vocalists.
