I think both Mozart and his Requiem do not require any recommendations at all. If somebody does not know the music, everybody, I’m sure, knows the title. As for the academic choir “Pochaina” of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, it is not for the first time that it appears “on the screen”. This choir had become famous even before Ukraine got its independence and Kyiv-Mohyla Academy recommenced its activities. A as a matter of fact, a peculiar business card of this choir is the revival of the compositions of famous Ukrainian composers of the 18th – 19th centuries Maksym Berezovskyi and Artemiy Vedel, who were students of the Academy. But, as far as we can see, the pearl of the world’s classical music are also included in its repertoire. Since the choir has a very high professional level, which has been marked more than once during numerous international festivals, I think that the compositions performed by this choir, that belong to the world classical music, deserve close attention of interested listeners.
