It so happened that we obtained this disk only in late spring. But this fact seems to have paradoxically exacerbated perception, made us listen more attentively – it worked out due to the contrast. And positively surprised. Children's singing is a realm where it is sometimes quite difficult to refrain from certain populism, sweetish mawkishness. But here – everything sounds honestly, clearly, without any indulgence to the age of participants. However, the ensemble is headed by true professionals really fascinated with their cause – "Rayhorodok" is a children's projects by participants of the band
"Bozhychi", and this a priori means high standards of quality. Not only regarding the performance skills as such – this is true immersion into the world of the ancient tradition, nurturing genuine attention and respect for the past. Which, as known, impacts the future... By the way, it is clear that "Bozhychi" have collected a lot of material during their folklore explorations over the years, and therefore "Rayhorodok" should not have been limited to widely replicated pieces – one can hear that. And one more interesting thing – in the current composition of the ensemble, voices of
Oleh Skrypka's children can be heard (he, by the way, acted as the producer of the project).
The release contains a 20-page booklet with photos and lyrics of all the songs.
