"Myhailo Kotsyubynsky is the acknowledged classic of the Ukrainian prose, whose best known works were later transformed into films by Paradzhanov – "Shadows of Ancestors Forgotten", "Fata Morgana", "Kharytya", "Little Sinner" and lots of others, part of which are presented in this audio release. Works by Kotsyubynsky are full of life-giving energy, delicate sensitivity to beauty, light simplicity of thought. Penetrating and refined social and psychological stories by the master are among the greatest artistic achievements of not only Ukrainian prose. And friends of Kotsyubynsky, calling him the heliolater, specified the core of his life-asserting perception of the world: "I am very happy that I meet it (the sun) here, in the open space, where nobody will shields its face, and I tell him: sun! I am grateful to you. You sow golden sowing in my soul – who knows what appears from those seed. Maybe, lights?"
