Vasyl Slipak was a world-renowned Ukrainian opera singer, a soloist of the National Opera in Paris, a volunteer, a combatant in the hostilities in the east of Ukraine (his call sign was "Myth"). He was killed by a sniper in action. A Hero of Ukraine.
"Myth Singing" is a disk with records of Vasyl Slipak's voice from different years. For example, the mono-opera based on Mykhail Semenko poems "Pierrot Deadnooses" was performed in Odessa in 1995 at the Two Days and Two Nights of New Music Festival – while the fragment of the folk song "Misyats na nebi... (The Moon in the Sky) was recorded with a voice recorder in Donbas in 2016 (at the frontline).
He sang as a baritone or mezzo-soprano, the range of his voice allowed him to perform male baritone parts, as well as high soprano, which is a rare phenomenon in nature and in vocal arts.
