Discs of the concert series "New Music in Ukraine" have become in Ukrainian audio space a phenomenon as important, as exclusive. However, this collection will be able to pleasantly surprise and make admirers of musical advance guard all over the world happy. The more so that next to works of Ukrainian composers, creativity of a whole constellation of foreign composers is represented here. Runchak, Sil’vestrov, Almashi, Krause, Webern, Lutoslawski, Rose and many others – these people devoted themselves to searches for the new, unexplored. In their music, often complicated and uncompromising, there echoes and sounds that high-voltage inspiration, which is able to satiate and change the space, to honestly chop off the superfluous – leaving what is clear. Volodymyr Runchak and his chamber ensemble "New Music in Ukraine" do invaluable work – they do not let new music keep silent, convey it to an enormous audience. They have carried out over three hundred world and Ukrainian premieres of pieces by modern composers. In particular – within exactly this concerto series "New Music in Ukraine". Besides, on these discs you will hear a few high quality orchestras, with which V.Runchak acted as a director – as well as a number of leading local and foreign solo instrumentalists, stars of the world stage. I think that it won’t be an exaggeration if I say that this series of discs will become a valuable contribution into any serious record library – and will bring great joy, deep satisfaction to all admirers of free, creative musical thinking.
