Officially, this is only the first album by Lviv group "Opium" – although, in fact, as many as three albums have been produced during the period of the group's existence. The other thing is that they did not manage to issue the first two ones as full-fledged albums – but that is already another story. In any case, the musicians do not lack experience, therefore the present disc does not sound "green" at all. In our time, there is virtually no music, in which influence of this or that group or this or that style were not recognized quite clearly – that is a norm. In the end, the genealogy of any modern album can be somehow brought down to at least the 1960s. But "Opium" honestly searches for its own rock language in texts and in music – at least, presence of other influences does not really catch one's eye, and this is nice. In our opinion, "Opium" plays simple classic rock – and this, you should agree, is not that easy (considering the numerous temptations of those influences). Besides, the song lyrics do not resemble a simple set of rhymes and meter at all – the experience lived through, live thoughts and feelings are obviously inlaid into these words. Well, and honest songs, we believe, will always be able to find a grateful listener. Won't they?

And if they were performed with a full-fledged rock composition and the proper arrangement – this would be songs that are10-15 minutes long, or even more. ...sounding of the disc looks like illustration of the conclusion that the core of a person consists of feelings. Strong – and far not always lyric ones. Hence tension, speed, harsh emotions – but these are still paints. Because from within that very lyricism looms – it is impossible not to notice it.

..the debut disc by the group "Dalai Lama" is a mouthful of cheerful hope indeed. Not least of all – due to diversity of the material. Dalai Lama switches from alternative rock to grunge, mixes up punk and disco, changes the internal tension of trip-hop for the seeming transparency of post-rock, quotes funk inside out, just has fun with the sound – and does it confidently.

Just rock. Lyrical, young, sometimes dreamy – but, the main thing, honest. One never stops being surprised that during the recent years appearance of this sort of groups has become really rare – therefore one is happy to see every fresh figure. The more so – when, as in the case of Znak Vody, everything develops harmoniously.

Motor'rolla, disregarding obstacles, has managed to make a step ahead in quality – it seems that right now the group has finally found its real sounding, has reached a sort of their own standard. This is important – because, having such a work in one's reserve, it is possible to freely experiment in any direction. Durable foundation – is there.

The guys from the Chernigiv group ShyZO define their own music as sweet rock. At least, it refers to the debut album, which you now see in front of you – the musicians quite consciously decided to sweeten it, so that the way to the audience did not become too difficult and thorny. The position is, certainly, clear, thank you for warning – but let us disagree.

From punk to hard-rock, from pop-metal to ballads in the rock-modern manner – however, the features so unnoticeably flow from one to another that they are not worth clinging tight to. The main thing is that energy of these guys is quite evident and nice. And all the rest – is already just a matter of taste.

Extremely fast, really – it seems that there are yet no analogues to such speed on the Ukrainian scene. Just a few months have passed from the moment when Rura released her debut album – and here we already have the second album, and active work on the third album is in process. ...the limited composition – three musicians – dictates the need of playing distinctly. Otherwise, it will make no sense. The group manages to play the alternative without applying open sound aggression. The atmosphere is created not due to external drive, but by internal accumulation of tension..

Her singing at once makes you ready for close observation. At that, gravitation towards the ballad form is perceived – so, in the texts, it is still easy to trace the lyrical line. But not thoughtless. And all that together creates positive impression – one feels good potential.

"Flit" does such simple and pure rock, that it is even hard to describe and explain it. But - it is pleasant to listen. Here there is nothing too much – too much weights, sweets, luster etc. It’s not underground, but not a soap. Everything is simple. Simple rock.

More than 10 years have already passed since the moment of the first release of this album – by the way, it then appeared on cassettes. Thus, due to the present second release all fans of Motor’rolla have a considerable reason for joy – such rarities do not still appear too frequently in our space.

Motor’rolla became virtually the first Ukrainian rock group with its own DJ as a participant. Moreover, the group, as they put it, keeps the character – it stays irreconcilable to the unfriendly reality. At that, this irreconcilability refers both to some sheer social phenomena and events, and internal ones.
