Listening to opera vocal performance is always a strong impression. It even does not matter whether you like opera or not. And the reason to state this fact is very simple. The point is that the voice of an opera singer is a power in a pure form, moreover, it is a tame and well-developed power. It is the power, which neither torments nor fritters itself. On the contrary, it injects, builds and crystallises itself. It evokes respect exactly because it overcomes nature. Everyone, who tried at least once, knows very well – only talent is not enough here, a lot of work combined with many years of refinement are required. But it is worth while doing that, I think. It is worth while doing that because as a consequence, the voice becomes not simply an ideal musical instrument, but it becomes more than a musical instrument. One may say, it becomes an embodiment of an idea. It exceeds the bounds of a substance. It is quite understandable that not every performer can attain such level. But Hryhoriy Harkusha is a recognised master. As far as his proximity to the ideal is concerned, you should listen and judge by yourselves.
