I’ll calm you down at once (or won’t I?) – this is not quite usual item of our programme. A bit of hard-rock, a bit of metal, a bit of gothic – without too harsh manifestations, so that one might smoothly overflow into another. Folk motives are also present here – but it mostly shows in lyrics and not in music. No, you won’t find adaptation of folk songs here. But the album is devoted to the Ukrainian Cossacks as an embodiment of a national self-consciousness exactly of Ukrainians – this is the main motive. Still, the quantity and the depth of interpretations of any kind of topic can’t be limited by anything, except for the personal depth of an artist. And it is pleasant that in this particular case they did not expose the Cossack topic to a deliberate profanation, but tried to comprehend it somehow in their own way, and at that, to do it in the right way. How much in the right way – each listener will identify by himself in accordance with his personal likings. Personally for me it seems that the whole album is a physical yearning for freedom. And freedom is one of few things in life that really deserve attention. As well as the songs about it, of course.
