Hence – the ability to see deep beauty in simple things, the ability to truly recognize affinity of different music cultures and the ability to transmit this joy of cognition, the joy of open eyes.. For it might seem that the idea – to combine the Ukrainian folk music with music of other cultures – is no longer as surprising as it used to be even a dozen years ago. There are enough experiments – but. That is why not only "what" matters here, but – "how" as well. And here Burdon can give a head start to many, because from the very beginning this group has been appealing due to absence of anything false – in all senses. And let the new album attract someone with, say, Macedonian, Romanian, Gypsy, Greek, Turkish ornaments – in the end, I cannot avoid biting on it either. But in the first place "The Maiden" for me is another sunny brick in this tower, which, unlike that of Babel, will not collapse. Because it is being built due to joyful efforts of souls, so there is simply no room for arrogance or deceit..
